OUR HISTORY
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
After working as a sales representative for textile and clothing manufacturers for a number of years, Colin Hansen saw a gap in the market for a new product. Whilst he was deliberating on whether to leave his current job and start up his own business, he was reminded of the scripture Proverbs 3:5 - 6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight". On the strength of that scripture, in 1986, Colin took the first step to starting out on his own and that was the beginning of Collies Clothing, the first entity in our group. Over the years we have developed strong relationships with our customers and have learnt that in getting to know them and through listening to and understanding their needs we are able to offer advice and give direction.
1986
Collies Clothing was established in 1986 in Ivy Park. Collies Clothing supplies ranges of men's formal and casual wear to South African retailers and chain stores.
1986
Our motto has always been "the right look at the right price".
1992
Colbar Clothing was established to supply the Corporate Clothing/Uniform Market.
1997
C&C Clothing Consultants was established in 1997. C&C Clothing provides shared services to the other entities within the group - i.e. the functions relating to Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology and certain aspects of production are performed by C&C Clothing.
1998
The original Colbar team at the Ivy Park premises.
2005
Collies Group moved into Westgate Office Park.
2006
Hloba Clothing was established as a BBBEE supplier of bespoke Corporate Wear.
2015
Morewood Clothing was created as our Group's in-house manufacturing facility.
